MWPT Treasurer Recruitment

The Mt. Washington Preservation Trust (MWPT) continues to grow and expand our conservation services and volunteer efforts thanks to the generosity of neighbors like you!

If you are new to the neighborhood or haven’t met us yet, the MWPT preserves over 25 acres of green space and 40 gardens throughout Mount Washington through gardening, conservation easements, and preservation as an all-volunteer organization, check out what we do.

Our growth is thanks in part to dedicated volunteers like Maria Leasca who served as the Board’s volunteer Treasurer for 20+ years and is now transitioning to a well-deserved break. Maria will continue in her role as Fire Soul for Nature Sacred. If you see Maria around - or on her bike! - please congratulate her and Mike Sherlock on receiving the first ever MWPT Gunther Wertheimer Exemplary Service Award.

In 2024, the MWPT Board of Directors is recruiting a Treasurer to join the MWPT. Tasks include general accounting, bookkeeping, and tax support.
The Treasurer needs to be available approx. 5-8 hours for bookkeeping per month and 2 hours every other month for Board meetings. A nice-to-have, but not required, is experience with non-profit organizations, grant management, and/or conservation and land trust expertise. Training and orientation are available. All positions including officers are volunteer.

Please email your interest with the Subject Line: Treasurer to mwptrust@gmail.com.

Don’t have a financial background but still want to get involved? Sign up as a volunteer here.  General volunteers, Sunday Service Gardeners, and Committee Members are always welcome. There is much to BEE done and we thrive with the support from neighbors like you!

With Best Wishes,

Tarah Ranke
President
